Practical Thin Layer Chromatography
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is a powerful yet simple analysis tool. During this workshop participants will be introduced to the science of TLC and will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of two highly skilled facilitators. Particular emphasis will be placed on using commonly available materials to ensure that the technique remains accessible to all. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will have gained the necessary skills to undertake their own analysis with meaningful results.
Izmailov and Stahl are avid biologists with interests in plant diversity and variation. Together they have performed thousands of analyses utilising Thin Layer Chromatography, and have developed many new techniques to aid in the identification of plant constituents. Strong advocates for practical application of this simple tool in all manner of scientific examination, Izmailov and Stahl wish to bring this technology to a wider audience.
