In a moment of difficulty and struggles in the heart of the Amazon Jungle, a true and honest medicine man thousands of years ago, after taking ayahuasca to seek guidance and healing for his tribe, has a seed planted in his heart. This seed then is transformed into a vision, where the Creator gives him clear instructions on listening to the singing of a bright green tree frog and accepting its love donation through the collection of its poisonous secretion, in order to help his tribe in that moment of truth and need of light. The name of the pajé is Kambo and after his passage, this unique and rare frog, received his name and also the medicine. Kambo has been traditionally used for the purposes of healing, hunting and luck in life, for the removal of panema, an indigenous term used to describe multidimensional negative states, physically perceived and felt as laziness, apathy, depression. Through a simple yet very profound creation of a sacred circle or gathering, the secretion, mixed with water or saliva is applied on an open injured skin lightly burned with the use of a thin round burning stick. The called points or gates are created, and the connection of the active compounds of kambo with nervous receptors under the superficial layer of the epidermis gives rise to a cascade of events, leading to a short but intense and strongly lived experience of cleansing, purification. An alchemy happens, and a sensation of refreshment, rejuvenation and self-love replaces a state of pain and blockages caused by suffering.
