Entheogenesis Australis 2007

We are currently in the process of posting speakers notes online for you to access as PDF or word document downloads. Clink on the topic of each lecture/workshop to download.

International headline speaker: Denis McKenna

The Entheogenesis Australis conference will be held over four days and will consist of a variety of lectures, discussions, workshops and performance.

Typically, lectures will run for approximately 45 minutes and will involve a speaker in front of a large gathered audience with question time at the end of each talk for approximately 15 minutes

2007 EGA will have two types of discussions sessions. Discussion panels will be facilitated by Rak Razam and Kath Williamson and will consist of four to five panel members who will address a particular theme. The audience will be invited to ask the panel members questions and otherwise debate and participate actively.

Discussions groups will consist of a single speaker addressing the group, with equal opportunity for all to speak.
The discussion topic will be introduced then the discussion facilitated by the speaker. Discussions groups are the most ‘informal’ format on our program.

Workshops will be similar to discussion but will focus on more practical, hands-on subjects. Some workshops will occur near the main conference complex, whilst others may require a short field trip.

This year our MC will be Kath Williamson.

Psychedelic Activism and Dissent: Its origins
and its future

All politics is an extension of consciousness, and psychedelic activism has a rich history of raging against the machine. From the anti-war movements of the 60s attempting to levitate the Pentagon, to drug busts in the bush and media scares in the 00s, the politics of consciousness should be at the heart of modern activism. So why isn't it?

Ayahuasca: A Holy Grail for our species?

In the 60s LSD opened the mind; in the 80s ecstasy opened the heart: now in the 00s, is ayahuasca revealing the spirit for a new generation of seekers? With ayahuasca use exploding in the West, does this jungle sacrament offer a chance for a genuine archaic revival? And is the sacred vine being commodified by Western use as it spreads across the planet.

The rise of the Ultra-culture:Doof, Entheo & Tribal communities in the 00's

Doof, Entheo and Tribal communities in the 00's. Forget the counterculture: the Ultraculture is the hybrid offspring of all that has gone before: Part hippie, part activist, part spiritual warrior. As this new global tribe coalesces, what have we learned from past communities' experience? How do we weave myth, magick, science and technology to be a successful tribe in the present?
